HBO provides online video service


The online world is big. It is getting bigger and bigger day after day. Recently there was a revelation that email will be replaced with twitter in short term. YouTube made the started the visual revolution in the online world. There after so many similar service providers came into the scene. In India also video sharing became a habit. It is believed that after the 3G aution the online world will become more bigger than now in India.
Online video service is the new fashion now. In India also the recently launched ET now shares the footages through their website. CNBC TV18 also doing the same in their website moneycontrol.com. The worlds major television group HBO made it clear that they are going to provide online video service. HBO channel subscribers of verizon’s Fios TV can view cable network shows online. This move is to attract the large number of web users. The new services is known as ‘HBO GO’. Subscribers can view their favorite shows through web without television. According to the communication from the company this service is cost effective too.
In the beginning, only Verizon Fios subscribers can access ‘HBO GO’. Comcast-HBO subscribers also can view the shows through web. Recent surveys show that the number of viewers of TV ondemand progarmmes increased rapidly. HBO research shows that the growth rate is 20-30 percent. Company also expects that online ondemand will also grow at a rate similar to this.
There is bad news for the online crowd in India, since the service will only be available in US at first. Subscribers in US can view the programs using PC,Mac any where in the country. HBO is trying hard to make this service available in smart phones too. Since India is a major market for HBO, when the move will become successful in US they will soon provide this service to other countries including India. Cheers to the online video revolution.
